Terms of service
Effective 1 September 2026
This is placeholder, generic terms content for the Ping site and should be reviewed by counsel before publishing. It describes, in general terms, how a transactional accounting engine dealing in virtual currency would typically set expectations with users.
01Acceptance of these terms
By opening a Ping account, messaging our WhatsApp number, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you're using Ping on behalf of a business, you're confirming you have authority to bind that business to these terms.
02Description of the service
Ping is a transactional accounting engine accessed through a WhatsApp Flows interface, allowing users to send, receive, and track virtual currency. Ping maintains the underlying ledger, confirms transactions, and provides statements and balances on request.
Virtual currency held or transferred through Ping represents a record on our ledger and is not legal tender issued by any government.
03Eligibility and accounts
You must meet the minimum age and legal capacity requirements in your jurisdiction to use Ping, and you must provide accurate information when creating an account. You're responsible for keeping your WhatsApp account and connected device secure — Ping treats messages sent from your registered number as authorised by you.
04Virtual currency and transactions
Transactions are posted to the ledger once confirmed through the WhatsApp Flow and cannot generally be reversed by Ping once settled, except where required by law or under our error-resolution process below.
- You're responsible for confirming the recipient and amount before approving a transaction.
- We may delay, decline, or reverse a transaction we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, erroneous, or in breach of these terms.
- If you believe a transaction was processed in error, contact us as soon as possible so we can investigate.
05Fees
Ping may charge fees for certain transactions or services, which will be disclosed to you within the WhatsApp Flow before you confirm the transaction. We'll give reasonable notice before any change to our standard fees.
06Your responsibilities
You agree not to use Ping for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, financing of terrorism, fraud, or evasion of sanctions, and not to attempt to interfere with the security or normal operation of the Service.
- You won't use Ping to transact on behalf of someone else without authorisation.
- You won't attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems.
- You won't use automated means to interact with the WhatsApp Flow outside of normal use.
07Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account where we reasonably suspect fraud, a breach of these terms, or a legal or regulatory requirement to do so. Where possible, we'll notify you and provide a way to withdraw any remaining balance, subject to applicable law.
08Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is." While we work to keep Ping's ledger accurate and available, we don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Ping is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
09Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Ping against claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
10Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ping is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled through the courts or arbitration process specified in your local terms addendum, where applicable.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use Ping after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
